Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has completed its i-Sri Lanka network upgrade program. The project was carried out in partnership with ZTE and Huawei. Back in 2005, SLT started the i-Sri Lanka project, to upgrade its legacy network to a Next Generation Network (NGN). SLT has now completed all phases of the i-Sri Lanka program by adding over 4,500 new access nodes across the island. Investments in this project reached LKR 13 billion. SLT plans to serve 70,000 households through FTTH by end-2016.
