KPK Govt Signs $1.6 Billion Railway Project with Chinese Company, Aug 04,’16

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and China Communication and Construction Company Ltd has signed the Circular Railway Project worth $1.6 billion at Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar. The project links Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda with future expansion to Swabi and a speedy service from Peshawar to Islamabad.  China Communication and Construction Company Ltd shall conduct a feasibility study, inclusive of concept design, cost estimation and will prepare a technical and financial proposal to the provincial government in respect of the development of the project. It would also provide a technical specification to the government for the soil investigation and survey.

China, Kazakhstan Sign US$2 Billion in Deals as Xinjiang Party Boss Visits

Nepal likely to seek concessional loan for 1200 MW hydro project from China

The Nepal Energy Ministry has requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to propose to the Chinese government that concessional loan be given to Nepal to construct the 1200 MW Budhigandaki hydro project. Energy ministry sources say if the proposal is approved, the issue will figure during bilateral talks when Prime Minister KP Oli visits China later this month. The Nepal government has also sent a proposal to seek Chinese funding for Kimathanka Arun and Sunkoshi III.

China to Construct Additional Berths at Gwadar Port, Mar 09,’16

According to Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Pakistan Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, China will construct additional multipurpose berths at Gwadar port to make the deep sea port fully operational. He said under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the port’s terminal will also be upgraded and expanded. The Minister has said that an LNG terminal is also being constructed at Gwadar port.
