Solar Power Plant Planned in Sirajganj

North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL) is going to set up a 7.6MW solar power plant in in dist. Sirajganj, Bangladesh. The company has already sent a development project proposal to the executive committee of the national economic council for approval. Power Point Korea has been selected as a contractor for the project. It has sought approval from the Planning Ministry for the proposed project. Soon after getting approval, it will start construction work on the plant. The Sirajganj plant will be set up on 23.75 acres of land that would cost US$16.02 million. The contractor will build the proposed power plant by June 2018.

Solatio to Invest USD 853m in 650-MW PV Project in Brazil

Spanish renewable firm Solatio Energia will invest about BRL 3.4 billion (USD 853m/EUR 773m) in a 650-MW solar project in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state. The project, which consists of four solar farms that represent about 20% of all the solar energy contracted by the company in Brazil, will receive support from the Minas Gerais state government. This project alone, being a partnership with Canadian Solar Inc, will require investments of some BRL 1.6 billion. The other three plants will be constructed in Guimarania, Vazante and Paracatu. Together, the four facilities will have the capacity to produce about 1.5 million MWh per year.
